This was such a joy to read! Based on the original tale by E.A. Wyke-Smith, which I have not yet read, Veronica Cossanteli brings the tale to a modern audience.
This has everything you could possibly wish for with children's fiction. Adventure, kind new creatures, odd new enemies and a beautiful moral that strings through the story. I loved this so much and I'm looking forward to talking about it with new readers.

The original story inspired Tolkien to write the Hobbit, so I needed to read this piece especially because of it! This one is a retelling of the original story, I don´t know how different it is from the original, but it´s definitely more modern.
I love children´s books so I enjoyed this little silly, funny and cute book so much. I could see some of the inspo Tolkien used in his books, and thought it was really sweet.
