Naprawdę jestem zaskoczona tym, jak bardzo spodobała mi się ta książka. Sam epilog wydał mi się bardzo słaby i szczerze- przy pierwszym podejściu porzuciłam czytanie. Minęło parę miesięcy, miałam przed sobą podróż pociągiem, ochotę na lekkie fantasy, a na czytniku akurat pobrane z Legimi "Płoń dla mnie".
No i wpadłam! Jakie to było dobre! Czyta się ekspresowo! Świetne postaci, głowna bohaterka bezpretensjonalna, intrygująca, postaci poboczne również ciekawie napisane. Chyba nie ma osoby, która przeczytała tę książkę i nie pokochała babci Fridy

The story starts with this woman visiting her cousin after not being in contact with him over 20 years. She asks for his help because her son had killed a policeman in the company off adam piers. She fears her son might be shot on sight because he killed of the policeman’s own.
The pov then switches to Nevada who’s a PI agent. She gets assigned to find Adam piers before the police finds him. She doesn’t want to take on the job, but is forced to by the company that owns hers. While trying to find Adam, she gets kidnapped and kind of tortured for information by mad Rogan. Mad rogan is this scary prime magic guy, who had served in the army and afterwards fell off the grid. He wants to find his nephew and the only way he can is to find Adam piers first. After seeing Nevada looking for Adam he kidnaps her and tries to get information out of her by using he’s magic. What he doesn’t now is that she is a truth teller and kind of resisted his magic. He lets her go and later forces her to work for him. She refuses to work for him because he had kidnapped her while she was just gaping had his handsomeness. She was to attracted and found him to dangerous, but eventually decides to work with him after Adam tries to kill her grandma. They work together to find Adam and mad rogans nephew, but quickly learn that there is more to the story than the policeman’s death. Adam has been trying and finding old artefacts from India to amplify his prime fire magic to burn down the world. After allot of fight and magic they finally stop him and safe the world. Adam piers is handed over to his family, mad rogans nephew is safely tuned in and the old artefact is send back to India. But apparently that was not the end of the story. In the epilogue rogan gets a call from his cousin, telling him how he and Adam had ruined things. His cousin hates him and wanted revenge and because she didn’t have any magic, she found powerful people that would do it for her and hoped Adam could burn down the whole city taking rogan with it. She even sacrificed her own son for it. All because rogan was more loved by their family and he had powerful magic, while’s she didn’t have any magic at all. But it didn’t work in the end and she’s not done yet.
I did NOT expect to like this book but boyyyyy was I wrong. There was sarcasm, you know that’s my fav 😏, banter, a little bit of psyconess AND TENTION. OMG THE TENSION. she has been attracted to him from the moment she saw him, but doesn’t act on it and he’s blatantly trying to get her to sleep with him “to get it out of their system” boy I know you lyinggggg.
AND THE EPILOGUE GOT MY JAW ON THE FLOOR. don’t mind me imma start the next book in this series damnn was this great.

I will never rate an Ilona Andrews book below 5 stars. This is a reread for me - but still an extremely enjoyable one. There are a decent amount of books in the series where reading Nevada and Rogan meeting each other for the first time is nostalgic (probably not the right term - but y’all know what I mean). can’t wait to reread the rest of the series.

I wanted to write a review of this book since it is the first in the series. I absolutely loved this book and I can't wait for the next one to come out. Rogan is completely HOT! He and Nevada are awesome to read about together. There are lots of good jokes. Basically, if you like the Kate Daniels series, you are sure to love this.
