I'm honestly just getting my romance fixes from manga lately, because I really haven't read many books that blew me away this year. This isekai story was so cute and wholesome, and exactly what I needed! The art style is beautiful, and if you're just looking for a feel good, fluffy manga to read then I highly recommend this one!

Eheheheheheheh! I had no idea there were so many isekai/otome game manga but I'm certainly enjoying them & this one especially. It's got a strong snarky protagonist, silly dynamic, a cute demon puppy, and weird crows, what more could a girl need?

This is the story of a girl in a hospital playing a otome game. In death the girl is transported into the story of Irene who is the exfiancé of the crown prince Cedric. Irene is consider the Villian of the the otome game. within her new body prepared for what was to come the new Irene is doing everything in her power to avoid a bad ending like the original Irene. Irene goes to the second prince who is also the demon king, and proposes to him.

this was one of my first stories in the villainess genre and it was amazing. i still reread it to this day.

like some other reviews mentioned, it's not really anything new from the genre and plays into plenty of the classic tropes within it but it's still great. also works as a great introductory to villainess stories if you're looking to start.

the art is fantastic and claude is so dreamy, its fun to watch their romance play out. the side characters (especially the demons) are so cute!! they probably make up half of my enjoyment of the series. it's a quick fun read

The first volume was packed full of tropes and had a hard time escaping or subverting them, and the execution of the tropes themselves was mediocre. Since the characters themselves were tropes (which is integral to trope-subverting stories like these otome isekais), they ended up feeling one-dimensional. There was a lot of promise, but not much payoff. The pacing was well done and the art was good, and the story had enough potential that I picked up the second volume. I'm glad I did.

In the second volume, the story came into its own. The tropes that had been established in the first volume were neatly subverted or wielded for the story's own ends; the characters developed and grew more dimensional; several extremely likable minor characters got a lot more screen time (and their presence gave more context and nuance to the main characters); the antagonist revealed an actual motive (rather than just being excessively and pointlessly evil, as is often the case); and the plot was taut and page-turning.

The third volume was even better, with some twists I didn't anticipate (and given my knowledge of story structure as a writer and editor, in addition to my vast reading experience with manga and its tropes, I don't get caught off guard very often). The final conflict, rather than being gaudily violent in an attempt to be epic, fit the tone and motivations of the characters and concluded in a very satisfying way. The plot threads came together, and I don't think it's truly spoilers to say that we got a happy ending. The extra chapters at the end were pure fluffy goodness and added a pleasant resolution.

All in all, this series is a worthy contribution to the otome isekai genre.

It's an isekai (reborn in a new world) fantasy manga. She's reborn in a dating simulator video game, and is promptly betrayed by her fiance. So after being cast in the villain role she turns to the game's villain for help.

Also features a character with "main character syndrome" where they think the world revolves around them, which I always enjoy as a trope.

The setting is a Western historical fantasy world AU.

tropes: abandoned child, demon king, villainess as main character, dragon, demons, prince, royalty, proposal, tsundere
