Betting on You by Lynn Painter was such a delightful read! I don't read a ton of YA, but have started to read more as my oldest is starting to age up into that group of books. There's a lot of real life happening in these pages to our leads, Bailey and Charlie, but all very relatable, especially for those who had to travel between two households growing up. Their meet-cute was NOT cute at all, but both characters redeemed themselves as the book went on. The slow burn and friendship first was perfectly paced. It was the perfect read between some heavier-themed thrillers and I could not put it down! Note: I received a copy from Simon & Schuster #bookclubfavorites, receipt of which did not impact my review.

4.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely loved this book! I was actually expecting to not really like it since I hate the ‘betting’ trope and this book is literally called ‘Betting On you’ but it got soo good. Like literally, this had me squealing, giggling and kicking my feet. It included so many of my other favourite tropes and the character growth was amazing. I absolutely love this book!

I’m a sucker for a high school love story. This one’s story was great. Losing a star because while I’m an OG Swiftie and can appreciate a great Taylor reference, it was annoyingly over the top.
