Sequel to a book I’ve not read and don’t really have interest in going back and reading that first

I read the Ice Cream Girls a few years ago now and have had this sequel a while too so thought it was about time I picked it up.

I really enjoyed the story, It features the same characters Poppy and Serena and this time centres more around their families.  It has abuse running throughout the book, with more secrets and lies from everyone. I liked the way the book kept mentioning the Ice Cream Girls, recapping the first book a little as I read.  I’m glad I read the first book but I think you would able to read the second if you haven’t - there is enough information in there so you know what happened to them.

I liked the ending but it’s left me wanting more…..

Slow at start
Wanted to drop at beginning
Got better
Not the biggest fan of sequels, so surprised I liked it enough to read it all
Good mystery
