This was a different read for me. I have honestly not read much BDSM or fetishist content before (but don't get me wrong, I've read my fair share of erotic fanfiction). Needless to say then, I didn't have much of an idea as to how these relationships form and develop. It was really cool to see, to be honest. I think this story has a profound way of showing the beauty in these relationships (and recognising its taboos).
I also really liked the characters, ally is definitely my favourite though. They were cute together, and I liked thought Alan added a uh...interesting...dynamic. I'm not really sure what role or purpose Alan is going to play though. Sometimes I see him as a jealous-it-didn't-work-out-ex and other times I see him as a straight-man-fetishising-lesbians. I hope I am wrong about both of these.
Lastly, the art style...oh my god, the art style. It is so fucking beautiful. I loved it so much. The tones and colour scheme is seductive and well complimented by the characters' personalities. Anyway, keen to read the rest!
also ally is really fucking hot sdifnaosd. okay, that is all.

Honestly I'm??? I hadn't expected to like this as much as I did? Obviously, +18. This is a comic that focuses on BDSM (an acronym that, by the way, I always mess up), specifically in its context of healthy sexuality exploration. I really loved how well the author managed this aspect, specially about the importance of communication, but I mostly was dying of the cutesy of Ally and Lisa and their blossoming relationship. It was just, super adorable and heartwarming. I liked very much how this first volume opened and I'll definitely be reading how their love story unfolds!
Honestly... Not much to say about this. You'll likely be reading the exact same review on the other volumes.
I didn't like how cliche some of these stereotypes are, which is why this isn't rated higher. Neither are terribly interesting, but the writing and art, as well as the interesting topic carry the story. While I was slightly thrown by Lisa and Ally's (in my opinion) oversexualized bodies, there's certainly no lack of appreciation on my part of the normalizing of the BDSM community as well as girl-on-girl love.
PS: Not willing to spend your money? It's available on DeviantArt. If you love it, buy it for keeps later!

This was a lot. The art is stunning and I totally can see why some people love this. I don't think it's my thing though.

A good book just not my thing. This is the closest thing to a comic I have ever read and I think I much prefer the longer graphic novels and a different art style. The story of a very humanized BDSM queer relationship is extremely well done and would be a great place to start if you're looking to poke your head into the world!
