So...I liked this book because it was queer & explored what BDSM can look like, and how human emotions can change the initial plan. However, I could also tell that it was written by a man- the character design and the way they speak to each other....it just didn’t feel real in relation to how women, esp queer women, are with each other. And their bodies looked exactly the same in that traditional comic ‘big boobs, skinny waist’ sort of look. I would appreciate some diversity in body type. It just felt a little fetishized, not the BDSM part, but the lesbian & woman aspect of it.
Despite all this, I’m going to read the next volume for sure because we need more queer graphic novels & it’s fun learning about BDSM!

I’ve known about this book for a long time and finally decided to check it out! I’ve already ordered the second volume because I sped through this one so fast and wow was it good!

didn't immediately grasp me- i feel pretty neutral about the writing and art styles both, so it took me a while to get into it. i do like the angle of these two women sexy chatting for months and then being so awkward and silly in real life "because bdsm people are just huge nerds" which is SO incredibly true! and once they start having feelings for each other i became a little more interested. i think in the beginning there wasn't really much introduction to the characters so they didn't really feel all that substantial until later on. it was a nice enough story but i'm hoping that later volumes will be a little more interesting in terms of the characters and their relationships, as this one felt very surface level without much depth. and honestly if the sex isn't going to be that graphic then you need the depth imo

A really realistic (I think) portrayal of sexuality and romantic relationships. No comment on the erotica part 🫡
The most unrealistic thing about this is finding someone in your own city.
Seriously though: this gets 4 stars because it's very fetishy and because the limits of the medium make this erotica without actual sex. Like what kind of queer sex did they actually have? Why are they afraid to say clitoris? Hell, there wasn't even a joke about needing to keep one's nails shortened. It's all just a bit too clean and sanitized to warrant 5 stars.
