I read volumes 1-5 in quick succession, so I'm going to just add this review based on all of them. These were great. I don't really ever read stuff like this, so I didn't realize I would like it as much as I did. I liked/loved all the characters. I was thoroughly invested the entire time. I can't believe I read 5 books in less than 24 hours. They were short, but I've been in a reading slump for a while, so I was very surprised at reading this much. I also really liked the art style. I also liked that the bdsm in it wasn't portrayed in a super toxic way like a lot of other books on the subject. I had a good time reading these, and I may be out of my reading slump now. I would give volume 1 4 stars, and 2-5 5 stars.

I am so hating myself for reading this so quickly because it'll be at least another month before I can get the rest of the comics in the series!

This is BDSM done right! Talks about the trust needed, the nervousness, the human feelings. It's also funny and has great artwork, but even without that the story alone is amazing enough!

I want morrre! Why did I do this to myself?!

Sunstone, Vol. 1 is very much my kind of comic. I absolutely adore Stjepan Šejić's art style and the characterisation is wonderful. I'll admit, when I first plucked this from the top shelf of the comic book shop I used to frequent before I moved away, I wasn't too sure exactly what I was letting myself in for. I half expected this to be little more than an amusingly naughty throw away read. I was, delightfully, incredibly wrong. Reading these two characters embarking on their first flirtations was so endearing and the comic does a superb job of steering away from becoming particularly smutty. Upon this re-read I wasn't quite as enamoured as I was during my first time, perhaps because the element of surprise is now missing. Make no mistakes, this is still an extraordinary comic though and I still really enjoyed revisiting where these characters journey began.

4.5/5

I didn't expect to fall in love with this series, but I think the point is that we don't expect to fall in love ever.

I like that BDSM is treated well; it's more like the wallpaper to the love story that is this book.

It immediately took me back to that butterflies in the stomach feeling of falling in love.
