3.25⭐️ * A somewhat reasonable miscommunication trope.
* A semi-relatable socially awkward FMC. There are some parts where I find her intolerable and privileged. Other times like with her mom I find her down-to-earth.
* I actually enjoyed the sports scenes which was surprising!
* HOH rep- I like that they spoke about the tinnitus in hard of hearing people. I myself am a HOH person who hates using hearing aids because they make headaches worse and even if I can hear sounds deciphering what’s being said is difficult. I love that they spoke on this!
* HOH rep- I hate that the MMC family spent so much time trying to force him to use hearing aids. He shouldn’t have to if he is uncomfortable with wearing them.
* I was bored mostly until it got to the part with the mom. She was my favorite character. I teared up so hard at the 75% mark
* The smut was pretty good. I respect that the “I love you” came after they actually experienced things together.
* The end was cute.

This was a fun read. I also like how the author handled disability and terminal illness within the story and how people live with it/grieve afterwards.

Loved this book!

Such a sweet story. I loved the depth of the characters. Pretty sure I fell in love with Ryder myself.

Only When It’s Us

**received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**

This is the first book by Chloe Liese and it will not be my last. I fell in love with Ryder and Willa from the beginning and how Chloe created their chemistry is amazing. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next between these two and each moment they spared with one another pulled me in more. Willa is feisty and doesn’t take any crap from Ryder, she continues to test the limits daily between them. Ryder immediately captured my heart with his lumberjack ways and his persistence of Willa. He never gave up and continued to fight for what he wanted. If you are looking for a new read, this needs to be on your TBR list today!

I can’t with these characters, particularly Willa. She seems to just do things without any kind of actual justification. Ryder is a sweet character though. My problem is I couldn’t really feel the chemistry between them. It just felt like the attraction between them was being shoved forcefully down my throat. The writing was super cringe at times. The moment I thought, “This is not too bad. I guess I’ll keep going,” the cringe is cranked up or Willa would do something incredibly stupid. This kept happening through the first 7 or 8 chapters that I read until I finally decided I really can’t stand this for another 22 chapters.
