Not her best. Much of it was telling, not showing.

It was good to read about Ash and Pete again but oh man, these two always has to go through so much. I feel for them! Plus the new characters, Jed and Max? Just my heart.

The epilogue was wonderful! YES!

More emotional glimpses of life with Ash and Pete

Garrett Leigh brings Ash and Pete's tumultuous relationship through to a naturally satisfying conclusion with this final visit.

I love anything Garrett writes but Ash and Pete are special to me among her characters because of their incredible struggles to just live their lives and love.

The angst levels in this series are almost the most high and dramatic of any of her books in my opinion and it works uniquely well for such wonderfully realised characters.

This book also gives us more Jed and Max and that can only ever be a good thing.

I couldn't read this trilogy as swiftly as I usually read, because there's a lot of...time marked, as Ash and Pete work through their issues and what life throws at them. But I really love where the story ends. It was worth my time for their uniqueness, for the mental heath rep, for family both found and blood, and for the good ending.

Loved getting to revisit two of my favorite couples from this author in one book. I'll be honest and say since it's been while since i read the previous books I was a little slow to remember everyone. A re-read probably would've been helpful. But I wasn't lost. This stands well on it's own. I loved getting to see that love isn't a magical cure all. That relationships still take work. Mental illness still rears it's head. That in life, it all comes down to CHOICE. You choose to stay and work it out. You choose to get help. It's all about how you choose to deal with things. (That's not a judgement of those who it's not that easy for.) I really enjoyed seeing Ash be there for Pete, and seeing how he's grown. He's more vocal (he could've spoken up even more IMO but life's a journey. He'll get there.) I really felt for Pete at the same thing, he's breaking under this huge burden he feels he can't share. I wish Jed & Max (from Only Love) hadn't seemed so perfect & guru-like. But then they were just supporting characters and weren't the focus.

Pete's arms were my home, and there was nothing left to say. We'd climbed another mountain and reached the top together. Life was never a perfect circle, but the one we had was all ours.

A seriously emotional journey but i'm so happy we finally got to see these guys get their happily ever after.
