i thought this was so cute!! i was expecting it to be a bit more festive but i still really enjoyed it. i liked that it wasn’t a billionaire romance (just binged the dreamland billionares series). felt very cozy and i think small town holiday romances will always feel a little christmas-y (even when christmas is still a big plot point)
the only thing i didn’t like was unfortunately catalina’s MOH speech… like girl we don’t need to be reminded that you also dated the groom

Let me be honest with you all for a brief second: this is my third attempt to write a review and I know that it will still not be enough to describe how much I adored this book.
My December Darling is a story where Lauren proves, time after time, that she does not need her books to have +500 to give us insane character development with a couple that makes us fall in love with them at the same time that they are falling in love with each other - even tho, I wanted this one to be bigger than the Les Misérables.
Luke Darling is such a perfect mmc, so different from Lauren’s previous books which I loved SO MUCH. I am not talking about him not being a billionaire but the golden retriever vibes, how obsessed he is over Catalina and how he SHOWS IT. Mark my words about him: you will fall IN LOVE with him.
As always, Lauren couldn’t write a story without making me sob in some parts (do not let the “christmas novella falalala vibes” fool you!!!) and Catalina was the reason behind those tears. I absolutely adore her and her feelings through her family were one of my favorite parts in this book. Her concerns and her thoughts were something that I think anyone could relate to at some part of their life.
Lake Wisteria is my favorite fictional place ever - it truly feels like home and Lauren gifting us with a story there, another family and some new scenarios was priceless.
My December Darling is a book that if I needed to describe with only one world I would pick: love. It’s not about Christmas per se, but so much more than festive vibes.
Christmas season can be way too hard for some of us and we can feel lonely as Catalina even though we have such a lovely family or we can actually be alone like Luke was. Anyway, I think it’s still such a beautiful season especially when we find our own traditions and our family - blood related or not - that brings us joy these days. And Lauren gave us the warmest hug through this story.
There’s nothing like reading a book that feels how much love and work were put in the story and in the characters. And this one is just such a proof that you can do everything when you LOVE what you are doing -I'm 100% sure that Lauren had the time of her life working on this one because it shows.
Phenomenal characters, scenario and writing. I am so indescribably glad that Lauren wrote a novella and decided to share it with all of us. I said it before and I would say it again: so happy that I crossed my paths with this author during my journey as a reader and found such a comfortable place to land in.
That being said, “My December Darling” it’s out in a few hours and you friends, christmas lover or grinch, need to read it asap.
Do you love Christmas? You need to read this one.
Do you hate Christmas? This is the book for you!
Are you totally indifferent to the Christmas season? Read this.
You can thank me later

This was a cute little Christmas romance. I think I would have enjoyed it more had it not been my first ever Lauren Asher book. After reading this, I added Love Redesigned and Love Unwritten to my TBR so that I can fully get emersed into and understand the whole Lake Wisteria vibes :)

I honestly didn't know what to expect going into this, because I have never read one of Lauren Asher's books (not into billionaire romance lol) but this was so cute and soft and sweet. The MMC is a cinnamon roll which we all know I'm a sucker for.
