"Bran thought about it. 'Can a man still be brave if he's afraid?'
'That is the only time a man can be brave,' his father told him."

Gracias a la serie me animé a leer estos libros. Hoy no quiero continuar la serie sin antes haber terminado de leer toda la saga (lo que va de ella)

Remarkable characters; a richly invented world. That damn raven nearly ruined my enjoyment of this book.

I'll admit this straight up: fantasy is not my cup of tea. But I decided to give this a shot because of my experience with Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings (and because I wanted to stay in the loop with what's crazy hot on TV). Martin definitely had a good story up his sleeve, but he lost it somewhere in the mundane details.

The first of the Game of Thrones books.  Rich will details as you follow the story of various characters and how their lives intertwine while many vie for the throne.   Arranged marriage, heartbreak, deceit everything you could want in a book is in this one.  I was blown away with the story, completely captivated and felt that the author has a talented way of describing every detail and make you feel like a part of the story.

Brilliantly written, could easily be real because of the way it flows around its twists and turns. Most fortunately, not as violent as the TV series. (Which I haven't watched, and never will.) Very creative, never a dull moment.
