Read this for a local book club. Have to admit. It was my first hate read. Truly had a terrible time. Tone was inconsistent. All tell and zero show, which left me feeling like the characters were trying to convince both me and themselves things were happening the way they said.
We were VERY weird about our Korean male MC and his name. The first time the female lead says his name correctly was in the middle of the last sex scene which felt.......odd to say the least.
We also assaulted Josh on one of these terrible double dates and laughed it off?
We used the word Quirky a lot for Hazel, when perhaps a better turn of phrase would have been "a complete and total lack of boundaries or the willingness to learn them".
Frankly I probably wouldn't have had a problem with most of this, if it had felt intentional by the authors.
My only contradiction to this, is that I honestly thought the ending was pretty solid.

Once again, I found I really really liked most of the book and in the end they manage to completely spoil my fun with it with a specific twist. AGAIN. Happened with the unhoneymooners as well. This truly must be their magic power. I don‘t think I‘m gonna read more of their books, if I always find my excitement about their writing spoiled by random stuff.
I‘m really sad honestly I enjoyed it but as soon as you throwaccidental pregnancy into the fucking mix when they barely said I love you or even spent any time properly together in their relationship as just the two of them , you ruin the entire thing for me. Ugh.
