I actually think I’ve read this before, but it’s been awhile so I forgot. I like Katherine and the appearance from the Glimmer Lake crew.
Another great trilogy by Elizabeth Hunter. I have liked reading about over 40 women since I'm one.
Three women who get supernatural powers after a strange incident and how they learn to deal with it.

A fantastic start to another great series!
I loved the Glimmer Lake series, and I'm not surprised that I love this one just as much!
Love all the new people, and can't wait for the next book!

Hello fantastic spin-off series. I fell in love with the concept of older main characters in the Glimmer Lake series where three best friends find themselves with psychic powers after landing in a lake. They call Professor Katherine Bassi for advise when they are trying to figure everything as they solved mysteries. The spinoff, Moonstone Cove, follows the same format except these older women didn't know each other before a traumatic incident brings on psychic powers.
Runaway Fate was very exciting. The danger that Katherine kept finding herself in had my heart pumping. Like the female main characters, I am too old for all of the emotions that this bookscreates in one sitting. I had to break up into reading blocks. Getting old sucks. Thankfully I now have positive roll models, Katherine, Meagan and Toni.
The traumatic incident sends the women on a mission to solve numerous different issues dealing with college students. Things aren't adding up. It will take these three brilliant women to help Detective Bassi solve all of the cases. I am bouncing with excitement for the next book to arrive on my Kindle.

An Engaging Thriller To Kick Off A New Series!
I’m already a fan of Elizabeth Hunter’s books and love her writing style. Her stories tick all the boxes for me. An intelligent writing style that's easy to read. Protagonists with personality traits that feel credible. A range of supporting characters that earn their place in the story. Plots and settings that feel believable – even when based in a paranormal world. And finally, a balanced mix of relationship, tension, action, humour and mystery in the plot line.
As a menopausal woman, I love that the Moonstone Cove series has older protagonists and supporting characters. About bloody time! Woohoo! I loved the relationships featured in this story; our protagonist's marriage to Baxter (it was beautiful and refreshing to see) and the evolving friendships between Katherine, Megan, and Toni.
I’d recommend Runaway Fate to anyone who enjoys stories about the value of strong, healthy friendships. Those who enjoy thrillers with danger, twists and unexpected surprises. But who also crave second coming-of-age adventures for older, independent, capable women. And appreciate a generous helping of banter, humour and realistic issues for the over 40s within a paranormal mystery.
We're treated to the first chapter of the next story in the Moonstone Cove at the end of this audiobook. I want to listen to Fate Actually - now!! Lol!

Wow! This book just hits the mark. Smart, sassy, and laugh out loud funny. My family looked at me multiple times when a bubble of laughter escaped. Katherine is the perfect heroine, off the charts intelligence, but socially not quite comfortable. Mysterious events are happening on the college campus where Katherine works from unexplained crimes to psychic visions, Katherine is out of her element. My favorite part is how the friendship evolves between Katherine, Toni and Megan as they learn more about powers they possess that they have only recently become aware of. This is a book for anyone who enjoys books with humor, mystery and friendship. I can't wait until Fate Actually releases for Toni's story!
I really enjoyed this book as well as how it tied back in with the Glimmer Lake series. Looking forward to diving in to book 2.
