This was a great follow up from Fabric of Our Souls. I loved the story of Wynn and Liam and equally love the relationship of Ophelia and Lanston. A beautiful way of portraying the difficulty of mental health and how it cripples a person. How our brain can be our worst enemy, especially without the support of “family”, and the awful reminder that just because they’re your blood relatives, doesn’t mean they love you and can hurt you even worse than a stranger on the street. The two books will be stuck in my brain for a long time.

Lanston and Ophelia.
I honestly don’t even know where to start. This book just healed a part of me that I didn’t even know could be healed. There’s a lot of little broken parts of my heart that this book just spoke right to. I have never identified with a character as much as I do with Ophelia and I love how this book wrapped up things from Fabric of Our Souls. I’m a puddle. I’m so grateful to have been given a chance to ARC read this and now you can go read it yourself. Please, do.

Firstly, I have to thank the author for allowing me to ARC read this amazing book. Since reading “The Fabric of Our Souls”, I have been waiting rather impatiently for this one…and wow did it exceed all of my wildest expectations!

This book was pure poetry from start to finish. I quite literally could not get enough and certainly can’t wait to own the hardcover someday.

The entire time I read this lovely book, I felt related to in the most healing way and by the time I’d finished it, I was left feeling that “ray of hope for weary souls”.

This book was honestly like a warm hug on the dreariest of days

🔸Summary:
This is a spin off from The Fabric of Our Souls and it follows Lanston journey in the afterlife. It’s been 5 years since his death and he’s been miserable ever since, not accepting what’s happened to him. Until he sees a dancing Ophelia with her purple hair, utterly captivating him. He wants to pass on to whatever is after here, but Ophelia wants to stay - haunted by her own past.

🔸Review:
I have literally sobbed at ever since chapter in this book, I couldn’t love it more if I tried! Lanston and Ophelia will always hold a special place in my heart, just as Wynn & Liam does😭

Gosh the way mental health is portrayed and written is so darn emotional and heart warming. It hits home! This is the 2nd book I’ve read by her and both have been 6 star reviews because they’ve just been so perfectly written.

Their journey of themselves and finding peace is so sweet and wholesome, I was utterly invested in their story and their past.

I have officially found my favourite author🥹🖤

🔸 Quotes:

“I want my love to haunt you - until the ocean dries.”

“They are my take on yearning. You see, the moth is darkness, chasing the butterfly, craving the brightness of it. But when the moth is the one running, the butterfly, being the light, chases it in return, unable to exist without the moth, because without darkness there is no light.”

“It isn’t your fault your most important organ failed and told you to crave death as a means of escape.”
