isn’t interesting, seems like the whole book is filler and isn’t getting anywhere
beautiful, tragic, poetic.
oh my gosh, this was a ‘my heart hurts but i can’t put it down’ read. i was so immersed into this world, with these characters. it’s the perfect level of sad and hopeful.

4.5/5 stars, A Ballard of Phantoms and Hope
“For the weary darlings out in the world who seek hope”
“For all those who stray”
The second book after The Fabric of Our Souls. The story follows the ghosts of Lanston and Ophelia who have yet to cross over because they have a bucket list to fulfill before they make the journey.
This book to me is poetic and tragic and heavy but so so good!
Check your triggers. Suicide, domestic violence, abuse, and death are all very prevalent. The author did do a beautiful job with these topics portraying them and keeping them real with also allowing the characters to find peace with it all and find forgiveness within themselves.
The ending did leave me teary eyes for the epilogue had Wynn, Liam and their child Lanny in the old opera house seeing what was left behind!

I had high hopes for this book. Fabric of our Souls CRUSHED me. Like left me gasping for air from sobbing at the end. I know this was a spin off but just felt that it was slower. Do not get me wrong, it was beautiful though. Just not "smutty" enough. Haha.

“I want my love to haunt you. Until the stars die—until all the water in the ocean dries and we’re all that’s left in this cruel, dark world.”
My heart. My heart. My heart. Lanston deserves the entire world. From The Fabric of Our Souls to here. My poor sweet boy. God it hurt so much. Everything about his story just makes my chest ache. I just want to hold him and tell him it was never his fault.
This was such a beautiful end for Lanston. The tone and style match the title perfectly. Moronova is a master at words. Master at breaking hearts even more so. There's not another soul on this earth that could tell this story as beautifully tragic as she. There was a melancholy feel to the entire book that set the mood. My heart might be broken but it was also filled in just a bit getting to know and hear Lanston's story.
