I am super bummed that this one didn't work for me, especially since I loved Legendborn! But, the love triangle just really bothered me and I found myself disinterested in what was happening pretty early on.

Beginning to feel like almost every 2nd book of a fantasy series seriously gets lost in the sauce. Had me on a couple fronts though, specifically the Selwyn thread. 3.25, will be immediately moving on to Book 3.

this series is great. i thought this was better than the first one, as this had much better character development due to the fact that we focus on less (first book had the issue of too many cooks spoil the broth). although i did think the pacing was a little off in this one compared to the first. it does suffer from second book syndrome a little in that not much happens but in a good way. like how harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2 film is good. like yasss lets spend 6 chapters at a dive bar. i think this series can still get better so im excited.
