second book in the series and it was just as amazing. slower than the first, yeah, at some points, but we got to learn more about the mc. the gray man seemed more human, too. still a killing machine but with cracks of humanity showing. a very complex character and i like it.
the dialogue was so realistic and i loved how court made me smile despite the situations he was in. incredible action scenes!! honestly!!

it’s detailed but not in a jargon way; somehow the writer, by still using lots of descriptions and field vocabulary, makes us immerse in the fights and does not loose our interest.
very interesting to learn so much about countries i’ve never set foot in. the schemes of things, how governments are all corrupt. and court gentry at the center of all of it.
