I was a little disappointed in this book. Although it was an easy read, Court did things that seemed way out of character for him. You’re also introduced to a character towards the beginning of the book who goes through this whole ordeal with Gentry which essentially was of no consequence to the storyline. I’ll read the next book in the series, but if this nonsense continues I won’t be able to stick with it.
Rollercoaster story. Just when you think things will turn out just fine, something bad happens.

I didn't like this at all. Court's character has undergone significant changes. In the first book he was an ace singleton assassin. Although the first was over the top at times, it was entertaining and I wanted to believe it. The second just didn't work for me in too many ways. It seemed as if Court developed some kind of Lifetime Chanel disorder, questioning all of his own actions. Author could be developing a story arc here, this book to show Court's own weaknesses, and the next his rise back to greatness, but... Surprised this and the first book were written by the same author.
I wish there were a half rating system so I could give it a 3.5. This book was pretty interesting and very unrealistic in the sense that the Gray Man should have been killed 30 times over by the end of the book. The Gray man is the new Jason Bourne.
Thought I'd try Greany's Gray Man series again, but I still don't see the appeal. The idea is good, but the execution less so, at least for my taste. Others undoubtedly see it differently, or he wouldn't have sold so many books.
The Gray Man (Courtland Gentry) is contracted by a rather unsavory fellow of the Russian variety to embark upon a mission to assassinate the ruthless dictator of Sudan. But, The Gray Man is sidelined by the CIA with having to do something else with this dictator. The Gray Man gets caught in between these two shadowy entities, only to find out that neither one have The Gray Man's best interests in mind. What will be the final call for The Gray Man? You will have to read and find out.
Overall this was a good read, but not great. Constant action. Well written. Decent character development. Though you probably need to read The Gray Man (#1 in the series) first. The only downfall of this book is that it seemed to drag on endlessly. Easily 100 pages could have been trimmed from this 546-page story line and it might have turned out even better. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed The Gray Man series, and I look forward to reading the next one in this thrilling installment.
