I was provided a free copy in return for an honest review.

I enjoyed Simone and Bane. Bane suffered from foot in mouth disease and Simone had a slight chip on her shoulder but Ms. Evans with a bit of help from their friends managed to find their happily ever after. I found myself charmed by Bane. He meant well but it never came out quite the way he intended. He was fascinated by Simone but knew they didn't have a future since she was human, or did they? Finding out was full of twists and turns . Simone is running and not ready for a relationship. And while she is attracted to Bane, she is sure he doesn't care for her. Can Bane show her that she means more to him? I enjoyed the interaction between Simone and Bane as they found their footing. I also enjoyed the additional layer Ms. Evans added to this story with strong secondary characters. They made the story much better and added to our understanding of what made Bane and Simone tick. This story was well written and full of humor. Even better, while this is second in the series, you do not need to read the first in order to understand what's happening as Bane and Simone find their happily ever after.

Simone has suffered long enough at the hands of her sick in the head boyfriend. When he puts her in hospital she finds the strength to leave from her friend and employer. He gives her cash and sends her to friends in New Hope. With her dreams to run a bakery now being achieved Simone is getting her life back on track. She is clueless to the fact that the town is chock full of shifters but they are heck a friendly - something she's not used to.

Bane is the town Romeo but when he meets Simone he feels an instant tug. But she can't be his mate - she is fully human. But maybe they can be together anyway - if only he can get through her prickly exterior. But when he became aware of why Simone is in New Hope, his hackles rise and he's spoiling for her ex to make his move and give him an excuse to kill him!

Drama, love, passion, great friendships and easy camaraderie. I loved this new read from the Dixon Pack. I loved the Alphas story and we get to see his relationship in glimpses through this book too as his mate becomes Simone's friend. I loved the ease with which Simone accepts her new shifter friends. I really want the recipes for some of the confections from her shop!!!!! I must be part bear cos I want me some Strawberry Honey Taffy!!!!

Can't wait to see what the rest of the series brings
