I enjoy Bill Bryson's books and there were plenty of funny lines in this one, I just didn't enjoy it as much as some of his others.
I loved this narrative of Bryson's continued misadventures while traveling in Britain. I must say I want to visit a lot of the places he grumbles about in this book.

I love Bryson. He's sarcastic, hates everyone, teaches you a lot about the world and walks a lot. My kind of guy. Well read by Nathan Osgood too.

Like all of his travel books, they make you want to visit the places he mentions in the books
I've only ever read one other Bill Bryson book and that was "Notes from a Small Island". This one is in the same vein with interesting anecdotes about places in the UK (actually, lets be honest mostly southern England). This time with added grumpiness about the state of the country. Mind you he has a point and I found myself agreeing with, and laughing at many of his observations.
Similar to Bryson's [b:Notes From A Small Island|28|Notes from a Small Island|Bill Bryson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1479653223s/28.jpg|940892], but longer. With more complaining. He veers off course of his self-named "Bryson Line" running the length of the isle of Great Britain to stop in a myriad of lesser known towns and villages, and does so, it seems, only to gripe about what changed in the last few decades since he last visited.
Still, Bryson's curmudgeonly view of the British ways through a expat's eyes makes for fun story telling if you're willing to sit at the feet of a beloved grouchy uncle.

I think I’ve read all of Bryson’s books. This was entertaining, and I did laugh out loud in bits. He’s becoming quite a grumpy old man, but I kind of enjoyed that aspect. His descriptions make me want to find a few new places on my next trip to the UK.
A light and enjoyable read which is I️ wanted. Not my favorite of Bryson’s, but enough moments that made me smile and I️ particularly liked the parts when he explained what it is that he likes about the UK. Definitely made we want to travel the British countryside.
I usually love Bill Bryson but I couldn't finish this one. There were definitely some funny passages but it felt like a slog and his hateful comments about certain people (yes, we get that you're a liberal) felt unnecessary. Tolerance for differing opinions isn't his strength and this time it wasn't funny.
