I'm not very good at writing reviews, but this book deserves one! It was so very intense, even though everyone knows the outcome, it still had me on the edge of my seat. It was so detailed and informative. It was not only educational, but just, in general, an incredibly good read!
I received this book through a goodreads giveaway which I signed up for without noting it was authored by Bill O'Reilly (who I can't stand). I should also point out that I've never studied Lincoln's assassination beyond what you learn in a standard history class, so I'm not sure how historically accurate the book is.
However, I've read many books on JFK's assassination, and love a good conspiracy story. And this was a great conspiracy story... a fast-paced, thriller I found quite enjoyable, as well as enlightening. The development of the story (along with Booth's hatred of Lincoln) from the final battles of the Civil War to Lincoln's assassination made for compelling reading, and the details of the (possible?) participants in the conspiracy were intriguing.
Overall it was a solid read, and it definitely makes me want to read more about this assassination.

This is the second book in the Killing Series that I've read and it's amazing. I am totally enthralled with the writing and all the months of research that has been done. Totally fascinating, especially learning so much about the Civil War, which included many battle sights within just a few hours from me! I'm still craving for more information about Secretary Stanton and his possible involvement in this atrocious act. Thanks Bill!!! Keep making history fun!!!
Loved the little known facts interspersed throughout the book. It brought to mind my grade school class where i first learned the origin of the saying, "His name is Mudd!" I now know the origin of "mad hatters" and many more such interesting tidbits. I listened to this on audio but wouldnt mind purchasing in print.

This book was both interesting and informative. Although I found the 1st part of the book to be somewhat dry, the 2nd and 3rd parts of the book were extremely gripping and I found myself eager to read more! I learned a lot from this book and am glad I read it!
