A tale of two Flashes. One trapped in the Speed Force, the other trying to repair his tortured past.

I've decided that I don't like Robert Venditti or Brett Booth and right now they are holding Flash (and others) hostage.
This book was pretty awful. In my head, I'm starting to liken Booth's art style to Rob Liefeld. Over muscled, over shiny, all action, weird poses, ignoring actual anatomy, etc. I've seen worse, but whatever appreciation I had for him in the past is long gone.
The story was...there. It was just starting to get complex but then everything just resolved. The main thread was a carry over from the previous volume. It has the makings of something that could have reset the status quo for the Flash for quite some time. Instead, all of the questions were answered almost immediately, and the mystery was wrapped up just about as cleanly and explicitly as possible.
It wrapped up with another issue AGAIN going over Flash's origin. It wasn't part of the actual series, it was one of the Secret Origins tales, but it was still unnecessary at this point. It might have been to bring some attention to the reintroduction of Thawne to the mythos.
Still, the whole thing felt like a wasted opportunity, the characters were completely flat, and the art was incredibly disappointing. Just hanging on for a new creative team.

Future Flash really came in outed David, was mean to Iris, and broke up Patty & Barry’s relationship.
Good for him??
Also, if I had a nickel for every time a rogue lost their arm in this run I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but weird that it happened twice, right?

Jensen & Venditti's run continues to disappoint. Both Flashes are in tough spots but they aren't interesting, new, intriguing, or compelling. Old Flash finds himself in the present and is a Punisher-esque style of crime fighting. Our Barry is once again in a dumb version of the Speed Force. The writers make both Barry's seem stupid most the time. Brett Booth does a really good job with the art chores and the design for Future Flash is dynamic. Overall, this entire arc was an enormous letdown.

The Flash is my all-time favorite superhero. This story is utterly boring and uninteresting.

It's safe to say I hate Future Flash and man, the plot twists get trippier and trippier.

First half was lame. Lots of inconsistencies with drawings. (At one point Barry looked like he could have been a Trump son.) didn't like the storyline, but I appreciated the Thawne line. Oh! And Patty finally left him, which hopefully makes more room for Iris? <3
