Yes, this book reminded me (and everyone else) of Room by Emma Donoghue. Room was a page turner for me, as was this book. It's very twisty (maybe one or two twist too many?) and full of multiple unreliable narrators. I liked that it is a German book, loved the
Spoileras it turned out, fake
cat's name, Fräulein Tinky and that the plot and writing kept me guessing, particularly in the beginning. Towards the end of the book it got perhaps a little much for me. I don't read a lot of psychological thrillers, but it was a quick read. It's been a while since I read Room but I recall liking that one better and would probably recommend it over this one. Or read both. Why not.
