I first heard of this book through Netflix as they have just released this as a series so as I like to read the book first, I jumped straight onto Amazon to buy this book. Despite the 760 physical books I have too read this one jumped straight to the top of the pile and I have no regrets and now can't wait to watch the series on Netflix.

Dear Child is told between three narrators:

Lena, the young woman who was taken and held against her will and traumatised.
Hannah, the daughter born in captivity who is a little wierd if not creepy  and...
Matthias, Lena’s father, who has been searching for her since her disappearance 14 years ago.

This is a dark, chilling and captivating thriller that has you on the edge of your seat throughout. It wasnt gruesome but was written in such a way you could feel the torture Lena experienced and the darkness and damage was obvious reading between the lines. This book kept me guessing and engaged from start to finish, it was a quick read and I never got bored reading this one.

A number of emotions I experienced through the story I feared for Lena and her vulnerability. Hannah was extremely unnerving and Matthias oozed a rawness of pain of never knowing what happened to Lena all those years ago.

Highly recommend.

Really did not like the translation. Dialogue was clunky and the progression of the story was hard to follow and parts seemed implausible.
