I was really expecting something more thrilling and chilling, the first few chapters were and the last few chapters were but the middle of the book felt more like an example of three people dealing with their own emotional distress.

I think the book would have been more thrilling if we knew from the beginning the captor was still alive, up until the last 50 pages we thought he and the threat were dead.

This started out super promising, but I was a little annoyed by the end. It was super creepy - what is it about creepy kids that makes them so much scarier than creepy adults?! I was not a fan of some of the character choices made towards the end, I actually had to pause the audiobook because I was so frustrated. I also feel like some things were left out of the ending, but maybe it was meant to be up to interpretation. Overall, a pretty good thriller though.
