Just as good the second time, if not better!! A MUST read for hockey/sports romance fans.

First read: October 4, 2021. 5 stars
Loved this!! Practically read it in one sitting. Perfect slow burn, loved Naomi and Michael (such chemistry!!!!), loved the depth of the characters. TW for grief, deceased parents.

I really liked it but the extreme slow burn in the beginning was frustrating. It felt like things didn’t move forward until I was more than halfway through the book.

The Puck Drop had me tearing up a few times.

Seeing Michael still processing the grief that he is dealing with just pulled at my heartstrings. But then seeing the other side of him, the person who tries to see the good in every moment, that made me fall for him. He just seems like an amazing character. Not only is he hard working, but he tries to be friends with everyone while occasionally issuing some tough love. You can also feel his passion for the game, and how it is hurting him to not be out on the ice with the rest of the team. Then there is Naomi, and ugh, her story. I teared up when she was explaining her past as well. Plus there's the drama with her dad, and her twin sister, it's just a lot. All of the things that Naomi is dealing with though eventually get brought up, and the air is cleared. Until that point though there is so much tension.

Naomi and Michael being together just works. You can feel their closeness. You can see the base of friendship that they've built, and how they are relying on each other through various tasks. Yes it would be nice if their relationship could be public, but since she is Coach's daughter, AND they are both interning for the team, it really is best that it stays quiet. For now.

I truly enjoyed the characters, the setting, and the storyline. It all just felt right. The book was a quick and easy read, and I devoured it.

A wonderful slow burn friends to lovers romance. Michael and Naomi's story was sweet but steamy. You even get a bit of forbidden romance because she is the coaches daughter.
I really loved how much Naomi's character grew throughout the book. She starts off a little meek and insecure. But finds her voice in the end. Michael is just so sweet and good. He's had so much pain in his life and him finding his joy was so touching.
Maybe my favorite things is that the right person apologized in the end. In a lot of books I feel like they force the apology from both sides even when it's just one person who messes up. But not here. One of them messed up and they are the ones who had to jump thru the hoops to make things right again.
Jaqueline Snowe is quickly becoming a go to author for me when I want a good college romance.

The story was a little thin/all over the place for this one, but I enjoyed their chemistry!!!

I literally don’t know what it was about this book but I loved every single bit of it.

Michael was so sweet and Naomi felt like she was my friend.

To me this book proves that things don’t need to be super complex or intense to still be perfect.
