I loved it. Of course I loved it.

However I have to say, it was the weakest of the trilogy and I was a little disappointed because for me, there was too little Jude x Cardan dialogues and scenes. The same goes for Vivi and Heather. I feel like Taryn had a lot of attention in this book, which was good, but I'd prefer it to be someone else. I liked the fact that both Cardan and Jude but Jude especially made a progress. And by progress, I mean emotional and mental growth. In The Cruel Prince, Jude betrayed Cardan. In The Wicked King, Cardan betrayed (not really betrayed, but you know what I mean) Jude. Now though, they both finally accepted each other and Jude FINALLY admitted to herself what she felt. Also I loved that there was a slight Beauty and the Beast love story going on at the end, so Holly Black won some bonus points from me for that.

I would definitely extend the end of the book - with them celebrating in the human world. I'd love to see more of Cardan there, reacting to things, trying out new things. Also, it was REALLY fast paced. Too much. I think if it was at least 100 pages longer, it would satisfy us more.

So, I expected better, but I'm glad nonetheless because it was an end to a beautiful and my all-time-favorite story.

So, Thank you Holly Black.

While reading the Queen of Nothing you must keep in mind that it is young adult fantasy. Some conversations feel overly juvenile which is acceptable because of its target reader. Otherwise, it’s an imaginative continuation of the other two books. Jude is an interesting protagonist who allows you to feel both her raw ambition and her empathy. Overall, the series is creative and well wrought.

„I knew little else. But I always knew you.“

The way Cardan loves Jude. The way Jude loves Cardan. The way they both grew in their roles as King and Queen. I loved this book so much.
