I read this to learn more about a group of people i grew up taught to hate. This was heart wrenching and disturbing immediately and as the story progressed. It really brought personalization and means to connect with these characters that seem very accurate to real life.

This book was beautifully written, and a powerful expression of how war and the Taliban's regime in Kabul impacted two women with different backgrounds and hopes. The emotion and tragedy was captured with so much depth that I really wasn't sure I'd be able to finish this one.  It's a hard read but an important one.

A beautiful and heartbreaking story. A little hard to get through because of the language barrier./translations, but I think it helped that I listened to it as an audiobook. The narrator had a middle eastern accent and explained the terminology. It was a detailed insight into the extreme realities of the lives of some if not many afghani women living in worn torn areas.

another beautiful Khaled Hosseini book. Such a devastating story that probably hits close to home for a lot of Afghan refugees. It's fictional, yet historical and informative.
His writing never ceases to bring your emotions to the surface.
