Honestly... I saw this was free on kindle sooo I was like sure and the synopsis was interesting and pulled me in.

We are thrust in to the story on the day after a one night stand.. aka we get none of the goods and just the rumors by others and reminiscing of the main characters.

I think that this story had soo many characters in one family that I found it hard to figure out who was who in the Bailey family. There wasn’t too much that set of the characters apart, I felt like I couldn’t tell you which brother is which since they weren’t there.

I am not going to continue the series since I don’t really care too much about the rest of the siblings. I did like the small town vibes and how it was set in Alaska, feels very winter time book, but that’s about it.

This was very low angst and I could see the issue right away. Sometimes I don’t mind that if the story pulls me in, but this story just dragged at some parts that it felt like those scenes weren’t necessary.

I also listened to this on Audio (Scribd) I did like the male narrator but the woman narrator, let’s just say I deserve an award listening to this book.

Overall this didn’t click with me. The writing was easy to follow, I don’t think I’ll give up Piper Rayne as an author, I just don’t know if this was the book I should have started with! If anyone has a book from her that you think I should have read instead please let me know!

Once I stated this book I couldn’t put it down. I just sat there and read it cover to cover and I am not disappointed to say I did that!!
These authors never seem to amaze me with how well they can make you fall for the characters. And root for them, one second your in tears and the next your screaming at it!!
I cannot wait to continue on with this series!

I received this book from InkslingerPR in exchange of an honest review.

My first Piper Rayne book, and oh boy, I had quite a lot of fun reading it, and I will definitely be checking out more of their books. Their romance is so nicely written!

I will write a good/not so good review for this book:

Good:
-Holly x Austin. They did make a cute couple and their chemistry was off the charts. I was rooting for them to finally get to see their feelings and make things more official. I get that they work together in school, but that shouldn’t be a problem if they just keep their relationship to outside of school.
-The sex. I am still slightly uncomfortable with sex scenes, but I am getting slowly more used to them, and these were well-written. Not too much information but also not too little, just the perfect amount.
-The fact they had a one-night stand and then found out they work in the same school. He as a teacher/coach, and she as the principal. I just had such a laugh about it when they both found out.
-The cover. It just fits so well with the couple in this book + their chemistry. Plus, it is just so sexy.
-The ending. I knew what was going to happen, it was quite obvious, but it was fun to see the characters get to that ending. To have them figure out what was going on, and how each of them felt. I did cry when x happened, that was just the sweetest.
-The epilogue was a nice addition and it made me smile so much. Thank you for adding it to the story. It just gave it that extra sprinkle on top of all the other glitter and fun.
-Finding out about Austin and what happened to his parents, his decision to care for his siblings. He was so sweet, so mature (though at times also a bit immature, but that made him so likeable), and I loved how he tried to be the best person for his sisters. How he tried to help them out with their futures and also showed them what was best, and that he just wanted the best for them.
Also I loved how he was as a coach. How he tried the best for his players, how he trained them hard, and how he was trying to get a bigger job lined up in the future.
-I loved the names of the Bailey’s, but dang parents, why? :P
-Holly’s best friend: Dana (or Dara). She was just so sweet and caring and I wouldn’t mind seeing more of her. I loved how she always was there for Holly, encouraging her or giving comments to what she was doing. These two are such good friends and it was so much fun to see them interact.
-I loved how we got up to graduation and after that. It was fun to see characters graduate, to see more about their futures and their plans.
-The blurb, I just love the lessons in there and it was making me laugh.
-The town was such a fun and beautiful place, I loved how cosy and friendly it was. I really would love to live there.

Three things I didn’t quite like:
-How the mom, when she found out Holly lied to her, just took a red-eye (which is still something I only read about in American books) and went out to her daughter. What the hell? Your daughter is 30, she has a job, she a life. And just because one lie, instead of just talking it over through skype or phone, she just goes there. What the hell? Over-attached much? Seriously, if my mom would do this (though without the red-eye/airplane as my country is tiny) I would just speak to her outside, and then tell her to go home that it is my business and that I am a grown woman.
And then she even stays? Like, living with her daughter. Who does that? That is just ridiculous. And then later on she even lives in the same town. What the hell? Mom, please.
-Holly in the beginning. I get that she wants to be professional (and that she was also a bit angry at him for making those jokes), but instead it came over as bitchy. It wasn’t until later that we see a better Holly. Besides, it didn’t make it better that she was acting so angry but in the mean time was just drooling over the guy. Come on.
-The obvious thing who Holly’s father was and what it meant. I was just rolling my eyes at this point.

Neutral:
-The gossip site was quite funny, though it also felt intrusive. I cannot imagine how I feel if I would be featured on the site as much as Holly and Austin were. Especially with such a budding romance, it just isn’t that good that things get featured so much. I wonder who is behind it, and I would have loved to find out, but I guess we will have to read the other Bailey books to find out?

But as you can see I am mostly very positive, and I was very happy with this book, I flew through it. I would definitely recommend it, it is a cute book with steamy sex scenes, and a couple you want to root for.

We all have dreams we can fulfill, and some regret that we didn't. Sometimes life gives us a second chance, the dreams we didn't fulfill, but we need to think very well if we truly need to catch up with this dream. That is what's happening with our two main characters, Austin & Holly.
As the big brother of the Bailey family, he takes the patriarchal role after his parents die in a snowmobile accident. He puts his dream on hold so he can become a further figure to his younger siblings.
Holly wants to learn more about her father, whom she never knew. That's when our main characters' dreams collide.
Even though Holly & Austin are educators to high schoolers, and at the same time the premise of this contemporary romance is pretty spicy, the main characters have the equilibrium to know and be the responsible adult and during their one on one sessions they full power.
I gave it 4.5 stars because I fewhole thing if Austin was going to become a college baseball coach or not dragged

A great start to a series!

This book starts the Baileys series by Piper Rayne, and focuses on Holly and Austin. Austin is the town golden boy who came home to raise his siblings after his parents’ tragic deaths, and Holly is the new girl in town he had a one-night stand with who turned out to be his boss! The book has great world building with the town and all the supporting characters that provide laugh out loud moments, drama, and more. Austin and Holly have plenty of sizzling chemistry together, and witty banter between them and with others. You can also count on a plot twist or two to keep things interesting. There are also several intriguing Bailey siblings left for a long series!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
