Parts of this made me physically ill to read, and I think that’s a good thing. I should still be able to be shocked and horrified, and hope I never numb myself to atrocities like this. It reinvigorates me to stand up against any hate I see, against any group. Would that humanity can someday realize that we have more in common than our differences. At the end of the day, all we want is to be safe with our family and friends. Every human deserves that right.

This one was only slightly better than the first. The stories of Auschwitz were hard to read, but very informative. The end of this one was more emotional, but it was still beautiful. This is a good series for anyone interested in the Holocaust or just looking to learn about it.

sometimes you read a story that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. you’re overwhelmed with emotions and sit in silence not knowing what to do or say. i truly cannot fathom all the treacherous things that were told, but it’s important that we know and never forget that they happened. therefore this story must continue to live on and blow its future readers’ minds.
