Unpopular opinion, probably: Virginia Woolf was full of it.

"One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well."
Hemingway once instructed a young writer to "avoid contemporary writers and compete only with the dead ones whose works have stood the test of time."
I used to believe there was a great amount of truth to that statement except through time and now having read this book, if you only read dead authors, you'd be missing out on a lot of perspectives from writers that aren't white males that are still increasing in a more inclusive and accessible world.
Great writing requires privacy and a means to support oneself to be able to produce works like Shakespeare or Tolstoy where one cannot write beautifully if they are fearful/struggling or lack a room of one's own.

When I ask you to earn money and have a room of your own, I am asking you to live in the presence of reality, an invigorating life, it would appear, whether one can impart it or not.”
