Thoroughly researched and masterfully told. I had to keep reminding myself that this was fact and not fiction.
An incredible feat of narrative journalism. I listened to the audiobook version and especially loved the first narrator of the Osage perspective and horrific treatment (both systematic treatment and violent/corporeal treatment). Also, including the research side at the end felt like a perfect epilogue and highlighted the importance of archives and historical sources (my librarian brain was geeked)!

Scintillating, scandalous and shocking. The final chapters focussing on the author’s work more personally was a fitting conclusion too.
I’m insurmountably excited for the Scorsese picture despite (or maybe, due to) not being able to conceptualise it at all in my head as a film.

I can’t believe this was never even touched on in high school or college. Chilling true story of greed & murder that can’t even uncover all of it
