3.5 stars. I liked it a lot but I felt that some of the characters were a bit one note and weren't developed as much as others were. For example I feel like Sal was super developed we knew who he was he had a really distinct inner monologue. I liked the romance between Heath and Reese. I do feel like the other boys didn't get as well developed as Sal and that kind of sucks because Sal is kind of the 'stereotype gay' as in he's confident a bit loud, dresses super preppy etc. I just think exploring the rest of the boys personalities a bit more would have been good. Like Gabe all we really know is he's an anxious environmentalist his monologue didn't get very deep. All in all its a cute book and I am in a bit of a slump right now so maybe I'm being a bit harsh.

The book lacked anything of an interesting story for me. Four white gay boys from one friend group are being divided over the summer, for the firts time ever. It took until around page 280 for some tension / drama / shake-up to happen but by that time the book lost me.
