No one told me you can love someone and still be miserable. How is that possible?

y'all... i ate this UP. my jaw DROPPED in chapter 1 when he kissed her and then asked her if she blew some guy, i knew i was SOLD on this.

this relationship is giving me exactly the angst i need - first with the OBVIOUS pining and cluelessness to each others' feelings because the love between them is so real and tangible, but also bc their addictions and self-destructive tendencies are so strong. the side characters are so loveable as well - connor and rose. connor is my fav, he's a real one. i could predict some of the things coming (ryke) but i enjoyed it.

i went into it thinking this would be a soap-ish rich bitch drama, which it kind of is, but they're fairly down to earth (considering everything) relatable characters. there's something about this relationship that anchors them and makes me love them and root for them, flaws and all.

i'm hoping at the end when all is said and done, lily and lo give me couple goals.

“Just repeat this phrase whenever you feel the urge to jump some other guy’s bones.” His mouth brushes my ear. “Loren Hale fucks better.”

I remember feeling really annoyed at both of their views, I understand they are addicts but they risk each others lives to continue their addictions and help each other hide it from the rest of the world. They moved in together and didn't tell each other stop but rather just lived with it. He was addicted to alcohol and she was addicted to sex, the ml's addiction in my opinion is more deadly as he can die over dosing or he's organs failing. I remember a character getting upset at the fl and saying how she is enabling him and he needs help, saying if she really loves him get help together as when you are together you enable each other addictions which is dangerous and I wholeheartedly agreed.  I have read bout and seen alcoholics before but never read about a sex addict, not sure if it's accurate but either way it seemed exaggerated as she needed sex every few hours multiple times a day. She would have sex with random men no matter where due to her addiction, didn't know if sex addicts felt the urge multiple times and as a must. Don't really remember any of the plots but from what I remember they got help thankfully and stayed together, I didn't really get attached to the characters or rooted for their relationship. Both characters seem very one dimensional and didn't have depth.

Well…this was a journey. I ended up liking this I just had to get through the first half of the book before I did. This definitely gives of gossip girl, I’m pretty sure some of the characters in GG were also addicted to alcohol and sex💀. It baffles me when rich white characters that have access to therapists and rehab don’t utilize it. But I get it we wouldn’t have this series if they got help. I liked when the book shifted from just Lo and Lily to include Conner, Rose and Ryke. They made the book more interesting and I’m a sucker for close friendships in books. I’ll try and read the next book late I’m not in rush but I would like to know what happens next. Overall okay but not the best thing.
