Such an epic read and made me belly laugh numerous times.
Didn’t realise Carter hadn’t written these but selected and compiled them instead.
Every Inuit fairy tale was utterly incredible and gob-smackingly hilarious and has stuck with me.

This is one of the most bizarre anthologies that I have ever read and I enjoyed most of it very much. It is super intriguing to me that there are aspects of fairytales that truly transcend time and region and are seen in so many different tales. Some of the fairytales I made my husband read and others I sent to my sister (it was usually the Inuit ones because I'd never read anything like it before), but others really hit the mark for me and were just irritating. It's hard to rate this entire book because each of the tales were so different, so i'm giving it a neutral rating since I loved some and hated others. Definitely worth checking out, though!

An interesting and eclectic collection.

i read around 103 pages and some stories are fun but honestly it’s so much and i dread reading this book so i’m gonna have to dnf it and maybe read it another time?? continue another time???

I think the book could have been halved after you took out some of the more boring or pointless stories. It did tend to get a bit repetitive by the end.
