Obviously a very hot take given its popularity but it took too long to build for me, didn’t really give me any creeped out feelings, and I ended up giving up towards the end when it got very racist very fast. DNF

A pretty slow book but I think the slowness fit this kind of story I don't think it would've hit the same if it was fast pace, I like the exploration of Jacks alcoholism how it effects not only himself but his family.
