But be prepared for table talk at dinner that begins with “Did you know that…The earliest Christmas trees dating back to 1510 were decorated with apples and paper roses?” Or “did you know…the ideal snow temperature for building a snowman? 30°F. according to one engineer. Pass this book around and everyone can get into the fun. This may be a book that is small in size (6 1/2” x 6 1/2”), but it is big on fun facts, and sure to please inquiring minds.
This series is bewitching for the young but frustrating to the adult, who subsequently barraged with whys and how’s that are not easily to answer
My kids loved this!!! There are 300 interesting, funny, weird, gross facts about Christmas. After we read the book we looked up some videos on youtube for things like the world's largest gingerbread house and the 12 story snowman since the book was so simple the kids wanted to know more. I can't wait to check out more of these Weird but True books!
It was a cute quick book filled with a lot of random facts for the holiday season. It incorporated bits and pieces from all around the globe, which I especially liked. I must say that I did learn quite a few little things from reading through it.
Each page only contains maybe one to 3 or so facts and then it is filled with a lot of pictures and colors. So while it may not challenge a stronger reader, it also doesn't really come across as that intimidating to for a weaker one.
Great for those who like to learn random things about things.
