Why was this book popular online? It felt like I was going through sad quotes on Tumblr.
I hope the author is in a good place, but this book ain't it.
This is only edgy teen writing, all the bad things from Tumblr and Pinterest combined in one book.
I wasn't even sad, I went "Urgh, really?" a LOT of times because it was so cringe.
I expected this book to be melancholic, something you want to read in a masochistic mood, but it is just bad.
This book is 100% nothing for teens, but I feel like teens are the only group who would enjoy this shallow, fake deep writing. (Just like this meme: S[he] Be[lie]ve[d])
If this is modern poetry, I don't want it.
I give little scenarios what vibes I got from this book:
14-year-old girl who got an older boyfriend, everyone warned her about and said he isn't nice and just kinda creepy. That person acts all grown up then even though it's really immature. THEN the guy talked with another girl or just broke up, and she acts as if her life is done, even though it was to be expected. Those were the quotes I saw in her Status then. :')
Or when you have an argument with your parents, you don't even know what It's about after five minutes, but pack your bag and think "Imma run away now." or "I'm going to kill myself then they will see."
All in all, I am glad it was free in Kindle Unlimited and I didn't actually pay for it.
Now a few quotes: (Spoiler and TW) This is what you get in this book, and those at least rime.
