I took a whole class on this book, which I think would amuse Twain.

Everyone in this book sucks ass except for Jim, Tom is a menace, Huckleberry deserved a family to care about him, all the other people are pretty dumb, the duke/dauphin are legitimately evil.... Elijah Wood did a GREAT job on the accents though.
Idk sometimes you return back to classics at an older age and they just.... Aren't that great? There are like 4 moments that are memorable and significant and everything else about the plot felt sad and gave me a headache. I have no patience for Tom's antics or what he put Jim through at the end for the sake of his own entertainment. As a adventure book it's kinda unhinged and very hard to follow, but as a social commentary book it falls IMMENSELY flat and I'm looking forward to reading James as a supplement.
