Some great highs in this final installment of Hereticus, which portrays Eisenhorn's humanity most convincingly even as the story strips him of it. Even so I think it goes a little too blunt and over the top at points, at least after what's probably pound for pound the best output of Black Library.
Also probably the only time I've thought a Warhammer book could be longer - the final antagonist feels robbed of what should be his own climax.

"I still believe in fruit juice" -Gregor Eisenhorn
hell yes I loved this book. more of the puritan/radical discussion and gregor trying to toe the line, lots of call-backs which is fun too. i dunno this isn’t a long review but there isn’t much to say other than i thoroughly enjoyed it, also i'm very hungry so want to stop writing this so i can go get a buger

1. Backcloth For A Crown Additional
One of Eisenhorn's old friends has died and he has been called to solve the murder. A short but effective story showing how Chaos can hide in the most mundane of things.
2. Hereticus
The final book of the Eisenhorn trilogy, Hereticus closes the inquisitor's story. Starting a few years after the end of the previous book, Eisenhorn is thrown directly in a fight for his life. This remains a theme throughout the book until the very end.
Eisenhorn slowly becomes more and more radical and willing to use any means in order to defeat his enemies. This naturally starts to create tensions within his team and will have dire consequences until the end.
Concerning the end it once again feels rushed. The book builds and builds and then abruptly ends. There isn't much of an epilogue or anything to provide closure. A few paragraphs regarding various characters and that's that. Even these aren't that many since Dan Abnett does his best to kill off as many people as possible.
In the end it's a fitting end for a very good trilogy. It's dark and grim and bittersweet but very entertaining.
