So I listened to this book and it was interesting enough to keep my attention. I thought it was kind of long. The story wrapped up nicely and there were some twists and turns. It was entertaining, but not thought provoking.

I think I need to stop reading Sandra Brown because it seems like a lot of her books are too similar. The male character in this romantic suspense was just the same as the one in the last book of her's that I read. He's super handsome (obviously), rugged, has anger management issues, is too spontaneous and is also ridiculously good at his job even though he breaks protocol and regularly puts himself in needless danger. The woman is pretty much only there to be wooed and you hardly hear anything about her. The romance is guaranteed and the suspense lacking. It as obvious who the bad guy was from the moment he was introduced. I do not recommend.

Fun thriller to listen to.

I received this book from Goodreads giveaway.

This was a very well written book. Good plot, great characters. Look forward to reading more of Sandra Brown's books.

This book was good and kept my attention. With that said it seemed heavily focused on one sex scene and the characters reminiscing about it constantly which was distracting from the regular plot. It’s just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. The plot was great.

Sandra Brown has been one of my favourite authors for a few years now, and with this latest book, she doesn't disappoint.

I haven't ever been disappointed by any of her books so far and that is quite a feat.
This wasn't my favourite of hers but it was still really good and well worth a read if you are a fan.

In this we meet Crawford who is a Texas Ranger, and I have to say I was asking myself at the half way point where do I find one of these? lol . He is in court at the beginning for a custody hearing, trying to get custody of his daughter back from her grandparents. The judge who will decide the case is Holly Spencer. Anyhow it all goes wrong when a masked gunman storms into the courtroom and starts shooting. Presumably at Holly.

As usual with her books there are a nice amount of "other" characters that blend into the storyline nicely without taking away from the main characters. Crawford's little girl was adorable and Sandra Brown wrote her so well I could see her and hear her voice.

As usual the chemistry between the two main characters was HOT and realistic.
One of the things I love about this author is its not all SEX, there is a gradual build-up and then when the sex scenes happen its just WOW!

I would definitely recommend this author if you like contemporary romances and Sandra Brown. As a romance author, they don't get much better than her.

One-Sentence Summary: The lives of a Texas Ranger and a Judge intersect when a gunman bursts into a courtroom

Review: Okay guys here we are in July and I'm calling it: BEST ROMANTIC SUSPENSE NOVEL OF 2015!

How can anything beat this? This just had everything you could possibly want from a book of this genre and was a complete and utter page turner.

Sandra Brown and a multitude of her books have been on my 'To-Read' shelf for awhile now but it's always been a case of "I will try out this popular-author-with-a-lot-of-books once I finish reading all of the Nora Roberts books that I have on my To-Read list" but then I landed 'Friction' as an ARC and was ecstatic that it was a standalone (as most of Brown's books are) and dipped straight in.

I could not put it down. I mean wow. How does she get me to care so much about the characters?! Crawford/Holly <3 <3 <3 - I just could not get enough! And little Georgia. And Joe and Grace who you wanted to despise but could kind of see where they were coming from. And the romance fits in nicely with the suspense i.e. it's not like in some books where the characters are in imminent danger and then they're like "never mind about that, let's just get our clothes off". Here it happens in realistic intervals in downtime and whilst Crawford and Holly go from 'just met' to 'love' really quickly in terms of timeframes, it doesn't really seem that quick because so much happens and they go through so much together.

Definitely recommending anyone who like some romance with their crime (or some crime with their romance ..)!
