3⭐️ . Was nothing to write home about. Very short and to the point.

Really enjoyed this! It was very atmospheric and had a great story and characters. The only thing that brought this down for me was the fact that I could the see the ‘twist’ coming from a mile away while the characters who are supposed to be academics were obviously. Would still recommend it though!

while the main plot points related to angharad and the discussions of how women are used and discarded in a traditional, patriarchal society were interesting, this book was overall held back by clunky reveals of information and painfully repetitive and uninformative descriptors. it shined its best at its most tense, atmospheric moments, and i wish it leaned more to a thriller.
