Wow this book, one of the best i’ve read in a while. I was continuously blown away at the plot twists in this! like what the fuck!! I love Fallon and her whole story with her career, the fire and all of the above ahhh it was amazing. But Ben, don’t get me started on Ben. Ben was a unfortunate character, obviously with losing his mother to suicide due to her cancer, losing his father and losing Kyle mainly. But, his character was portrayed in an amazing way, Colleen Hoover knew the perfect way to get us crying, laughing, smiling and whatever emotion she wanted during each november 9. I felt incredibly sorry for both characters especially when Fallon found the book, Colleen really knows how to blow us away at every single book with the unexpected plot twists, and the loveable characters, (until they do something unexpected and bad of course).

The only reason I haven’t given this book a 5 star is due to the lack of relationship with Fallons Mom and Fallon. Of course they have a good relationship as said in the book mutiple times but, they’re relationship isn’t portrayed often unless Fallon is talking about it, it is never shown with scenes they have together. Also, I really wanted to see more Ben and Kyle, due to the only interaction we really saw was where he was being aggressive toward Ben. It would’ve been better to see a good side to them.

The plot twists in this book really made it amazing, i mean what is a Colleen Hoover book without a good plot twist am i right? But this plot twist was extraordinary, No red flags from Ben to begin with whatsoever, yes he was a bit of a pervert, but never any indication of his involvement beforehand. Which made this book much more magical, unlike It Ends With Us, where Ryle is an immediate red flag in the first chapter.

Colleen never fails to blow everyone reading away with these books, with her plots, characters and twists.

UPDATE: 18/02/24
let me just say this book did NOT deserve 4 stars. 3 at best. i recommend colleen for those wanting to get into reading but never to stay with her. november 9 wasn’t anything special and is overrated beyond belief. everyone go read the shatter me series & the addicted series!!!

Woo - last book of 2022! Started off as a wishy washy romance that didn’t really seem to have much development. The twist actually made my jaw drop and from then on I couldn’t put it down. Satisfying book ending = satisfying end to the year!

Colleen Hoover needs a content warning on every book I've read of hers and this one is no exception.  It wasn't as emotionally disturbing as some of her other books and it really did have a good story line. Big twist at the end. But this will probably be my last book of hers. I don't much care for her writing style or her need to write about such emotionally disturbed characters. I find myself waiting fir that ax to fall and it has taken away from the story for me.
