I said it once for a Mary Kubica book, and I’ll say it again. Moral of the story is trust no b*tch. 🤯

I enjoyed this one. The beginning and middle were a bit slow and harder to get into, but after reading in bits and pieces, I got to the last 100 pages where I couldn’t put it down! There wasn’t super strong character development
outside of the explorations of Camille and Mouse as a part of Sadie, but those pieces felt like their own distinct characters more than developing the main character
Overall, interesting content with pacing issues at the beginning and middle.

For the first 75-80% of this book, I was hooked. Though I had suspicious about one of the twists, I thought it was well done and I was fully engaged. However, the last part of the book dragged and felt too over the place.
If Kibica had chosen either one of Sadie's alters or Will being the killer/mastermind, I think it would have sat better with me.
I felt the last half of the book had way too much exposition, which perhaps could have been present throughout but I forgave it before the plot frustrations hit.
It felt messy that the first half of the book really emphasized Imogen's issues and she wasn't mentioned at all until the very end. It also felt messy that Oliver's darkness was hinted it, then very heavily emphasized for a chapter, then completely gone again.
