Enjoyable! Very simple, lovely storytelling. Ending was the biggest letdown, it happened so quickly!

A good book, but spend your time reading Rose Daughter (by the same author) instead - it's the same story told more masterfully.

DID NOT FINISH: 48%

I was recommended this book by someone who said the writing style was similar to Juliet marillier and Patricia mckillip, but I didn’t see it….
adventurous mysterious fast-paced

I really liked this book, right up until the last 10-15% or so. I was very enamored with Beauty, Hope and Grace (and Greatheart!) but their father was honestly a little dull.

The frustrating part is that towards the end, it honestly just feels like the author got bored of writing the story and wrapped it up as quickly and easily as she could. I was expecting more peril for the two lovers, and a bigger climax. Kind of disappointing for a Beauty & the Beast retelling. :(

I would give this four stars, except the ending knocked it down to a 3.5.
