I don't have a very strong opinion on this, but I really liked the style, the occasional third-wall-breaking and the subtle humour of it. I resonated with the part about the way we love the land on which we grew up - and in general also I enjoyed the landscape description, and the way that the river appears every now and again as a messenger of fate (as do day and night cycles). The familial ties and their complexity were also really interesting.
