Audio version. 20+ hrs. The audio version has an interview with the author. MLK was a flawed human being trying to do good in the world.

Wow. This book is well-researched, and Jonathan Eig is an excellent storyteller. I enjoyed learning about King's life and his imperfections as a man and a husband. It is a disservice to King and his memory to paint him as a perfect man. It is ok to discuss that King cheated on his wife and still cared about the Civil Rights Movement because this does not take away from his accomplishments.

Eig did an excellent job explaining how King evolved his thinking from his experience in Chicago, how the Vietnam War changed his viewpoint, and how he fought to form the Poor People's Campaign.

I cannot wait for the release of the FBI transcript and recordings on the surveillance of King in 2027.

A little too long and repetitive but I'm glad I read it.
