Wonderfully, eloquently, brilliantly written. The first time I have ever had anything approaching a complete picture of Martin Luther King Jr. as a person and his work. The author wrote very honestly, neither deifying nor demonizing him.

Thoughtful, nuanced, and highly readable. This book was difficult to put down. Eig gives a full picture of King as a leader and kept me glued to this book. He provides context around the movement and the forces that shaped MLK'S life without overloading details. Highly highly recommend.
