Ngl, I was very excited about this book but i felt like it just fell short of many of my expectations as I genuinely think that it was annoying from the start. I felt like there were some great premises but they fell short in a constant dragging of the plot that felt far more didascalic than adventurous and in that I shall admit that it is mostly my taste that didn't enjoy such a thing BUT the characters to me just fell flat with Adeline being so annoying and whiny at times, with not enough depth while the love interest to be at times seemed just plainly boring. I understood his pov but I couldn't help but confront it with the fact that he is a white male. I genuinely found the antagonist the most interesting alongside the ending of this book where I noticed all of this better introduced. (especially if I can say, I dreaded the mc suffered from a terrible case of 'not-like-the-other-girls' syndrome).

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue" by V.E. Schwab is a beautifully written novel that explores the themes of loneliness, immortality, and the power of memory. The story follows Addie LaRue, a young woman who makes a deal with a god to live forever but at the cost of being forgotten by everyone she meets. Through her journey, Addie discovers the true meaning of love and the value of human connection.
While the romance between Addie and Henry was not my personal preference, I found myself captivated by the vivid imagery and the way the author portrays nostalgia throughout the book. The scenes and settings are described in such detail that it feels like you're experiencing them firsthand. Schwab's writing style is poetic and lyrical, and the way she weaves past and present together is masterful.
What I appreciated most about the book was its exploration of the human experience and the complex emotions that come with it. Addie's struggles and triumphs feel real, and her journey to find meaning in her immortal life is both heartbreaking and inspiring. Even though I wasn't a fan of the main love story, I still found myself emotionally invested in Addie's story and rooting for her until the very end.
